Disillusive Play is a new heavy rock/metal band from Athens,Greece that has been officially in existence since 2014. They are composed by Antigoni Kalamaras in vocals, Themis Tsianos in bass, Dimitris Knikos and Fotis Trivizas in guitars and Aris Dolianitis in drums. Guest star in keyboards for their debut album is Giannis Thermos from "THE SILENT WEDDING".


Recently they released their first album titled "Open Arms" and let's talk about it.




It consists of 10 songs (one is basically a extended version of an already existing) in heavy rock / metal style as I mentioned above. When the album starts while listening to the first notes of Alpha, which is the song that opens the album, you get positive emotions.
You get a smile while their singer starts singing cause something so beautiful has just started.

"This song is so good. I wonder if the rest of this album will be so good as this", you think.

And indeed the whole album continues like this. The second song "in the blink of a life", which is even better than the first( one of this album's hit songs in my opinion), opens even more your appetite to get lost in the band's music world and "devour" their music food they serve. And they do not disappoint you.



Good production, excellent music and a great voice combined with good lyrics that give us a result that will please everyone . At this point, I want to emphasize that because I love the bands with female vocals when it happens to listen to such a band, I become tougher in my criticism to overcome this love and be as objective as possible.

Disillusive Play managed to create so many positive emotions to me while listening to their debut album and also to throw away any concern i had. since it is a recording that has nothing to envy on anything comparing to the succesfully ones.

We hear an excellent result and they deserve every good word we say about them!!

Their sound surely remind us of bands such as evanescence . Lacuna coil etc and i bet they had some influences from these bands, but that does not diminish their very good effort and the even better result.




In conclusion , it's a very good start and i'm looking forward to hear theit next album. Is hard for me to tell which song of this album is better than other and that is another possitive in this review. 10 good songs!

Well...go go go and listen to them. A must hear album!!!
